The Gorczynski Family Judge Dale and Cynthia Canales Gorczynski live in Timbergrove
Manor and just celebrated their thirtieth wedding anniversary. Cynthia, a native Houstonian, is the daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred M. Canales. A graduate of Dominican College [Houston], she has worked as an elementary school
teacher, missionary in Central America, a pastoral social minister, and a Houston City Council Member. Through volunteerism,
she has continued her commitment to the special needs of Latina women and children.


Christina Canales Gorczynski, 28, graduated from St. Agnes Academy in 1998. In 2002, she graduated with a BA in Women’s Studies from
Beloit College. Christina is currently in her fourth year of the JD/MBA program at the University of Houston
Law Center and Bauer College of Business. Christina recently worked part-time for Council Member Sue Lovell. Christina
is president of Outlaw at U of H and a member of the Houston GLBT Political Caucus. She is currently interning
at Advocacy, Incorporated—a non-profit organization which represents clients with disabilities. She lives in the
Heights.

John Canales Gorczynski, 26, is Dale’s campaign manager. John graduated from St. Thomas High School in 2000 and from Saint John's
College in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2005. John is currently a Green MBA student at Dominican University of California.
John is on leave from his MBA to work on Dale's Re-Election Campaign. He is also working part-time
at the City of Houston Mayor's Office of Public Safety & Homeland Security as a research assistant. At this
point in his studies, John is most interested in providing ways for traditional organizations such as churches, banks, and
schools to become effective parts of the larger environmental movement.
